Hi Developers!
Are you growing a youth ministry or have a child to entertain? We have apps for that! We have quite the variety for you this week. Not only are these apps terrific, but the companies that created them put a lot of thought into their screenshots. And that can make all the difference in an app’s success.
Last week, we discussed the “Product Features” section of the Amazon Appstore page. This week, we’re focusing on screenshots. While it might not seem exciting, good screenshots might be the most important part of convincing someone to download an app. While videos are very powerful marketing tools, not everyone in your potential audience has the mobile data or the right plugins to see them. Screenshots are much more reliable.
So, what makes a good screenshot? Clarity. A lot of the screenshots you’ll see this week have short captions or callouts that not only explain what’s happening, but sell the features of the app. In the screenshots that don’t have captions, the value of the app is clear to the user. They show you fun characters, bright gameplay, an easy-to-use interface, or sample data, for example. Boost the performance of your app by highlighting its key features in compelling, explanatory screenshots.
If you haven’t watched our Appstore pages webinar yet, now is the perfect time. We’ve put all our hints, tips, tricks, and best practices for making an effective Appstore page in one place for you. What types of screenshots make you want to download an app?
